M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction) is a 1v1 ICBM duel that runs in the browser, with a god game built on the same engine. Free to play, donations welcome. Version française plus bas.
The duel
Two nations share a procedural map. Each one has a headquarters, three silos, two rocket batteries, missile defences, a radar and two tank factories. Raze the enemy HQ or bring its population under 15% to win, and saturate their missile defences before the big strikes.
- 16 weapons in three tabs. Classic: tactical salvo, cluster munitions, napalm, thermobaric, hypersonic glider. Nuclear: ICBM, MIRV, bunker buster, neutron bomb, EMP, Tsar Bomba. Experimental: tungsten rod, orbital beam, antimatter, black hole, tectonic quake.
- Destruction you can read. Blast fronts that knock buildings over, craters, scorched ground, districts on fire, flattened forests, debris, panicking traffic.
- Five maps from any seed: island, archipelago, valley, desert, arctic, in three sizes. Towns are grown street by street, with suburbs, hamlets and farms.
- Modes: duel against the AI (three difficulties), sandbox, and AI vs AI with a cinematic camera that follows the warheads down.
The living world
A second mode turns the map into a god game. Two villages grow into nations over the centuries: towns, roads, then the industrial, atomic and orbital eras. They farm, cut wood and mine ore, push their borders, found new towns where the resources are, and when tension runs high they go to war on their own, then rebuild.
You can watch, help or meddle: found a town, raise or lower the ground, call rain, a meteor, a volcano or a tsunami, or bring divine missiles down from the sky.
